This weekend we are back in action with a mouth-watering North West Cup quarter final tie against Tameside to look forward to.

Tameside are undoubtedly one of the success stories of the season at Under 13 level and they will be looking to end the campaign with some silverware. Last weekend they drew 4-4 against a very strong Wirral side in a match that several observers have indicated was dominated by the Tameside team.

The only defeat that our opponents have suffered so far this season was a 3-2 reverse at the hands of Sheffield in the first round of the ESFA Cup. You will remember that we also lost narrowly to the side from Yorkshire in the last sixteen of the same competition.

This match will be played on the wonderful grass surface at Denton Youth Club. The pitches there really are a credit to the club and the grounds-men who work there throughout the week. The well kept, flat surface should suit our style of play.

Training will take place on Tuesday 24th March between 4pm and 5.30pm on the Canon Slade School astro turf, led by Mr Devlin. If you cannot attend but would like to be considered for the Tameside match please let me know by phone (01204 333 343) or email (aej@canon-slade.bolton.sch.uk).

Best wishes

Mr Jackson
