I am delighted to report that the trials for the G.M.C.S.F.A Under 16 County squad for the 2016/17 season will take place on Friday 17th June at the following venue:
East Manchester Academy
Grey Mare Lane
Manchester
M11 3DS
The trials will begin at 4.30pm and end at 6.30pm.
The Greater Manchester Schools’ Football Association Under 16 county side has a rich history and many of its players have gone on to enjoy successful careers in the game. Alumni include Ryan Giggs, Gary and Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Wes Brown and David Flitcroft.
The squad competes in the E.S.F.A. Under 16 Inter County Trophy and the Northern Counties League so there are plenty of fixtures to enjoy throughout the season. The standard of football is very high and squad members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner both on and off the pitch.
If you would like to try out for this elite squad you or a parent/guardian must email me (aej@canon-slade.bolton.sch.uk) to confirm that you intend to attend the trials. In the email please include a contact phone number for a parent/carer or another suitable adult. The number will be used after the trials by the county management team (Mr P. Ogden – Manchester S.F.A and Mr M. Broadhead – Tameside S.F.A) to inform you of their selection decision.
If you do not send me an email prior to the trials you will not receive an official nomination from Bolton S.F.A and therefore you will be ineligible for selection.
Those attending the trials should arrive in good time and should take their own football kit with boots suitable for grass and 3G in case the weather is bad.
