Well done to all of the players and staff involved in the 3-3 league draw against Salford on Saturday 10th October. In what was an entertaining, pulsating encounter against old rivals the final result was in the balance until the last few minutes when Salford managed to scramble an equaliser.

The contest was certainly a good way for us to warm up for our E.S.F.A Cup Round 1 match against Chester next weekend and we can look forward to that fixture with some confidence.

The E.S.F.A. Cup is one of the oldest competitions in the world of football and certainly the most prestigious trophy in schools football. It was first contested in 1905 and unfortunately no Bolton side has ever won it. The list of previous winners can be found by clicking the link below:

The current squad certainly has a good chance of doing well in the tournament but in Chester we face potential winners very early indeed, so we must be at the top of our game if we are to progress. A trip to Wolverhampton in round 2 will be our reward if we get through.

Training will take place on Monday 12th October at 4.30pm on the Canon Slade astro-turf led by Mr Moulden. If you cannot attend please let the staff know as soon as possible.

Best wishes

Mr Jackson
